Understand biodiversity in the region and explore the underwater world from a completely different lens. Be a part of the marine conservation work being done on the beautiful island of Koh Tao which is also known as the Tortoise Island and contribute to the global database. Work closely with researchers and other experts, work on coral reef restoration activities and identify the critical issues surrounding marine species.

You are welcome to book other flights if you find them suitable, however please aim to arrive and depart within 1 hour of the above group arrival and departure from Koh Samui to ensure the Trip Leader can personally receive and see you off.
The accommodations during this trip will be in standard shared rooms and all washrooms will be on sharing basis. While the Trip Leader is residing at the same place, it is imperative that you respect the rules set down for your security and do not leave the property without the group at any time.
This trip is designed with research work and learning that is based on diving activities. If you are not comfortable diving, we suggest that you consider our Marine Internship program in the Andamans.
Yes, you have to be certified Open Water Diver as a prerequisite to this program. If your last dive was more than 6 months back, you have to take a Scuba refresher prior to joining this trip. In case this is not possible, please contact our team for further information.
The island of Koh Tao is safe for travellers and the participants will be staying at lodges of the Marine Conservation organization. We take the safety of our participants seriously and our Trip Leader will set down the dos and don’ts of the trip right at the start of the trip. The participants are required to follow all the guidelines laid down by DoTheDifferent representatives and its partners for their own safety. Participants are forbidden from leaving the premises unaccompanied at any time and we have a zero tolerance policy towards behavior that risks participants own or others safety.
Local food and continental cuisine is included on this trip and though limited, vegetarian options are included. Since the food is likely to be local style, we strongly recommend that you keep an open mind and a flexible attitude to make the experience more fun for you. If you have any special dietary requirements or food allergies, do inform us prior to the trip itself so that we can see how we can meet your needs.
All Indians entering Thailand need to hold a valid visa. Though visa on arrival is possible, for minors we strongly recommend that you get your visa before you start the trip. Travellers below the age of 18 travelling as unaccompanied minors require special documentation. You may also may require documentation relating to the person receiving the participants at the destination. Visa is granted at the consulates discretion.
