FAQs

Flights are not included in your trip. When booking flights, please keep in mind that you need to arrive in Leh before 12noon on day one. Should the connectivity from your destination not allow this, please arrange to arrive the night before. We can help with the extra night accommodation (at a nominal cost). The Trip Leader from DoTheDifferent will be in Leh a day before the trip starts.

On this trip, accommodation in Leh is at a modest hotel and at Pangong Tso we are going to be using tents. All accommodations and washrooms are on sharing basis.

The program is designed to cater to both beginners and experienced students as we will be covering all the basic concepts and since this is going to be a small group each participant can expect individual attention to improve their skills. So, no prior photography is needed, only a real interest in the subject.

All participants are expected to carry their own DSLR cameras with manual settings so that your learning is detailed. If you do not have a DSLR camera we would suggest that you borrow or rent one instead of investing in one at this stage.

Leh is at an altitude of 3,500m and altitude sickness can impact some people who visit this destination. We overcome this by acclimatising on the first day with very little activity. If you have concerns about this, you may like to consult your doctor and carry preventive medication like Diamox. The program is sufficiently spaced for the participants to adjust to the new altitude and as such this trip is not a physically exerting one.
